Stress, lack of sleep, and weight gain.

It is amazing what stress and lack of sleep can do to your health. I’ve been very stressed about meeting a few deadlines over the last two days and I managed about 4 hours of sleep each night. Despite exercising and eating healthy food both days I gained 2.5 pounds.

Lesson learned: over-committing is bad for your health.

Anyone else experience this?

Dude I didn’t realize your blood pressure was that out of control! Yes definitely eating better, exercise, and getting more sleep are keys. Check for lists of foods that are good for your blood pressure and eat those.

I have been on meds for several years for pre-hypertension so worst case go to the doctor and get yourself on something to get it in check sooner rather than later.

After I started getting 8 to 9 hours of sleep I felt way better physically and mentally so try to get an hour or two of extra zzzzzz.

Good luck and you can do this my brother…..

I am eating a mostly vegetarian diet right now and have been for a year now. I was eating meat once a week but that’s down to once every several weeks and I have seafood just once a week.

I am really opposed to pharmaceuticals and I quit taking them for high-blood pressure several years ago. I believe that I can get my BP down by creating healthier habits. I’ll go back to meds if when I get to my lifestyle and weight-loss goals there is no significant drop in BP.

Thanks for your support! I’ll get there soon.
